I mean, summer means sun, fun, friends, warmth, laughter, staying out until late, beach, sea, love and crazy holidays. Why don’t we live like that throughout the whole year?

However, Summer is very special here in Italy. Even though I don’t live near the sea, summer is all over us: it’s hot, cicadas sing in the morning, the children play in the gardens or in the playgrounds, spikes are golden and sunflower fields are amazing, people chat until late at night or ride a bike and swimming pools and beaches are more and more crowded.
Everything is beautiful here, except mosquitos, but I look forward to go with my best friends on holiday. In August, I will go to Valencia, in Spain, for a week: it is the first time my parents let my go on holiday without their supervision, so I am very happy they trust me and my schoolmates to go alone. I have already planned what to see, including the City of Arts and Sciences, a cultural and architectural complex in Valencia who looks breath-taking! There, we are going to visit the planetarium, an interactive museum, an open-air oceanographic park, and many live gigs. There is also a roof bar and a disco! Everyone says that the historical centre of the town is worth visiting too and that the cuisine is delicious… I really want to taste the traditional paella!
By the way, it is not the first time I go to Spain: since I was a child, I have gone with my parents and sisters on holiday throughout Europe. We visited many incredible places: Barcelona and Andalusia in Spain, Austria, London, Paris and Cote d’Azur, Brussels, Ireland, Prague, Croatia, Germany and many other countries I don’t even remember!
